Iris Transom

This is actually 3 pieces combined in framework to create one transom between 2 rooms. The iris to the far right was my first foil stained glass piece. The idea came from a drawing of a needlework iris. I then pulled out all my iris pictures from my flower gardens and decided I would try it. It was springtime, so all I had to do was walk outside to get inspired. I picked the colors for the center piece from iris I had growing in my garden at the time, sometimes actually taking glass outside and holding it next to the flower for comparison.

Panda Bear

This was inspired by a friend who loves Panda Bears. She watches the Panda Cams, and one day as she showed them to me, they looked so playful I thought they would be fun to make. This is a small piece just to see if I could make one look real. There will be more to follow.

Beveled Star

This is an 11 ¼ inch square piece with a clear beveled star in the center. Hangs by a gunmetal finished chain. I made this piece because I had a beautiful piece of glass that did not work with my nature pieces. You do not get the full effect of this piece until the sun really hits it.

Hummingbird and Flowers

This is a 13 ½ inch h by 12 ½ inch w piece. I love hummingbirds and after taking pictures all summer at our feeders I couldn't wait to try it in stained glass. I made the hummingbird and tried it with several different flowers before I decided on these flowers. I have always drawn these flowers, even as a child. There are 180 pieces including the jewels I used for the centers of all six flowers. The flowers vine starts at the left hand bottom of the glass and turns and goes up the right side. The background is clear textured glass cut in squares, bordered with green. The piece is framed in wood and the overall size including the wood frame is 16 5/16 inch h by 15 ¼ inch w.

Goldfinch

This is an 8 inch circle of a goldfinch on a tree branch with leaves. The bird is very detailed. The background is sky glass. Hangs by a gunmetal finished chain. This was inspired by the goldfinches visiting our birdbath each morning.
