Needle Felted Sculptures

Please check back often to see our latest addition to the felted sculptures.

General Needle Felting Process
Needle felting is probably one of the newest craft/arts, just around since the early 1980’s. The same needles that are used in industrial felting are used, but needle felting art uses individual needles. The needles are repeatedly pushed into the wool fibers, to design the sculptures. This process of pushing the needles in thousands of times is what condenses the wool into a firm sculpture. Each piece takes many hours to complete and thousands of stabs with the felting needle. It is like painting with wool, or at a potter’s wheel but with wool. The sculpture comes to life as I push the needle at just the right spot. When needle felting sheep the curls take numerous additional hours to add all the curls to their bodies.

Needle Felted Sculptures are not toys.
